"Yellow bags" based on household size

The amount of yellow bags you get depends on the size of your household. Based on the premise that a German citizen produces on average 35 kg of packaging waste per year, each person within a household will receive 13 "yellow bags" per year, with a capacity of 2.7 kg per bag.

At the start of each year households receive their basic bag allocations, in the form of 4 coupons that can be redeemed at the various distribution points in exchange for one roll of "yellow bags" (10 bags) per coupon.

So for example, a household made up of two people will receive 40 bags per year, thereby bringing their bag allocation to above the average requirement of 26 bags (13 bags per person).
